I walked by on the way out to Ruby’s last Saturday and saw the inside of the bank. I even took a few distant shots. I’d never seen the interior before and couldn’t believe they were going to demolish this place. Why didn’t they do something with it? Seems totally crazy. Bank of Coney Island RIP indeed.

i remember it was a thanksgiving about a decade ago when the thunderbolt was torn down to next to the spot where the stadium is now.
thanks for remembering! I looked up the Thunderbolt on the roller coaster database and it says:
Demolished on 11/17/2000 (http://rcdb.com/423.htm)
Seems like they wait until the season is over and it starts to get a little cold so no one is around when they do these kind of demolitions
